jimthedrummer Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 thinking of going the fresh air route. i know the correct answer, but just wondering how many aeroscreen users always wear a helmet??? Quote
Matt Seabrook Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 Yep always in my sprint car when on the road Quote
Guest Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 yep always ............ unless a very short blat down the road to try something at low speed. Quote
Phil. S Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 I wear mine almost all of the time during winter, but on hot summer days I wear it only if I will be going on motorways or fast A roads. Otherwise I'm happy with shatterproof glasses. Much nicer. I may change my mind if I get hit by a stone though. Quote
j30fos Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 I never used to but after donny kitcar show and scoobys car propeling a stone at a few miles over 70 ;-) I now do. I can only say it bl**** hurt ( didnt cry though ) Quote
Asterix Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 No, not unless I'm competing [edit] or in significant rain [/edit], even after being hit by various debris Quote
adhawkins Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 I'd say we wear helmets about 95% of the time. I'll occaisonally risk it for a short blat in the summer, or if I'm just popping down the road to check some mod feels Ok. When we first got the car I tried it without, but being pebbledashed by small stones at 70 MPH isn't fun, and the thought of what would happen if I was hit by a bigger stone is enough to put me off. steve_m Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 Never, unless on a track or going very long distance or in the winter and it's too cold not to. Always wear proper goggles though, never just sunglasses, I like my eyes. Quote
oioi Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 in the rain, really cold winter. decent glasses the rest of the time. Quote
deano.1 Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 We always wear ours, bricks really do hurt but even flies etc sting a bit! Quote
doug price Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 Wear a helmet on the motorway. Rest of the time good pair of goggles, whole point in aeroscreen is to feel the wind on your face. Quote
Peter M Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 Just completed just over a 1000 miles with aeroscreen always taken helmet with me but up to now never used it but I always make sure im wearing some decent wrap aroung eye shields. But who knows now winter coming maybe will start wearing it. Quote
JeffC Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 helmet on track and long blats on cool days , normally just glasses with straps on, be warned flies and stones sting a bit Quote
steve_m Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 whole point in aeroscreen is to feel the wind on your face. Absolutely, nice to drive at night too, nothiong around you at all and it feels faster Quote
Mat Jackson Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 Peter, That reminds me, I need to arrange a pasaaenger ride in your car to see how it feels without a screen. Still undecided as to wheter I`ll do it this winter or not? Mat Quote
