Phil. S Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 Turned on to watch 5th gear tonight. I'm not a big fan of the program, but there's only two motoring programs on TV so I take what I can get. They've changed the format, and it is now worse than ever: truly dreadful. They've wheeled on some young nunney who seems to have no broadcasting skills whatsoever. His interview with Al Gore was just embarrassing, and the post interview chat with VBH was mind-numbingly banal! VBH seems to be on something that makes her completely manic, enthusing about anything quite indiscriminately, and constantly saying "I just can't wait to see that!!" about anything that is mentioned. And they've moved it into a cafe (why?). It's just dreadful. Utterly dreadful. I managed to last to the 'trash my car' piece, but could take no more. They're obviously trying to emulate the Top Gear fun approach, but they're making a hopeless mess of it. I just can't believe the producers thought this would be a good idea, or that they've made a good job at presenting their new format. [Rant over. I feel better for that.] Quote
spence Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 I must say i was truly amazed and highly excited at the car being crushed. Can't wait for that to be on every week with 'Tim Nice But Dim', commentating . Quote

Buzz Billsberry Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 Did anybody see Windy in the back ground in the cafe shots eating his lunch? Buzz Neither did I!! Quote
windy Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 It was my breakfast washed down with a pint of Stella. Didn't recognise VBH at first. We went to sit down on the table directly behind her only to be told we couldn't sit there:p Went to sit on another table, then after staring at her fit A#se for a couple of minutes realised who it was. I think I was only on my first pint then still Or maybe it was my 4th Quote
Phil. S Posted September 25, 2006 Author Posted September 25, 2006 The ranting about this program on pistonheads was seven pages long before the program finished! I sent an email to the program with links to that and this thread. Roll on Sunday and the TG repeat. Quote
Boomy Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 I was waiting for the proggy after it to start so it was on, but i hardly looked up from the PC. I used to like VBH, but after seeing her on some dating game type show, her constant manic laughing made me think that the first time we hopped into bed, her head would turn full circle, she would spit slime and hover four feet above the duvet. Picture me flicking blessed castrol oil at her and yelling "The power of Top Gear compels you.." Quote
adhawkins Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 Roll on Sunday and the TG repeat. Didn't think they were showing any more Top Gear because of Hamster's accident? Andy Quote
