peterg Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 as they helped save Richard Hammond someone from I think Petrolheads has setup a website page for anyone to give a donation to Yorkshire Air Ambulance - it's already raised nearly £10kClicky Quote
Martin Keene Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 Chuff Me... That's impressive! Quote
MVS Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 Donation made. We have lived in North Yorkshire for ages, you never know when you may need a flight and I didn't realise they were run soley as a charity. Quote
KerryS Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 Air ambulance, lifeboats. It's just daft they are donation based. Whenever we have the opportunity we donate to both. Kerry Quote
scott beeland Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 Donation made and link sent to everyone on my NHS address book Quote
Chris.B Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 If you're thinking of charity donations, the Devon Air Ambulance is the charity nominated by the family of WSCC member Dan Haxell who died recently. See post here. Quote
scott beeland Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 The "Hamster" air ambulance donation total is up to 30k Keep it going I've sent a suggestion to the WSCC chairman suggesting the club might look at adding a "for sale with proceeds going to air ambulance charity" section to the boardroom. I'm sure we've all got various small bits of car clogging up our garage shelves that other member might want; and wouldn't mind the small individual revenues made from the sales going into the charity coffers instead of our own pockets? Discuss please Quote
adhawkins Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 I've sent a suggestion to the WSCC chairman suggesting the club might look at adding a "for sale with proceeds going to air ambulance charity" section to the boardroom. The trouble (as I understand it) is that there is one charity for each region isn't there? If so, how do you go about dividing up the 'pot'? Basically a good idea though, if the details could be ironed out. Andy Quote
scott beeland Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 Maybe we could contact the individual Air Ambulance HQ's to offer the service (I'm sure they'd accept). All the revenue from the sales could be paid into a WSCC held account and then at the end of the year the total fund (and any interest accrued) could be split equally between all the Air Ambulance HQ's ?? adhawkins Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 Sounds workable. Is there a list of them anywhere? Seems barmy to me that these things have to be self-funded... Andy Quote
scott beeland Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 I'll have a look when I get to work. Quote
KerryS Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 If you Google "air ambulance" it seems each NHS regional ambulance service does their own thing. Kerry Quote
Bananaman Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 Might be worth sending a donation to the Linc's Air Abmulance instead (just thinking of Kim Last weekend @ Cadwell), i'm sure this Yorkshire one will have plenty from this incident, might be nice to spread it arround Just a thought....... scott beeland Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 I thought if we set up the extra "for sale" section we could be of benefit to all the Air Ambulance charities. They all need our cash and who know who's going to need them at a circuit/venue somewhere else in the country Quote
