Boomy Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 I have a set of SHURE E2C's here too. I got them after knowing that i would always hate the ones you get with portable players or other cheaper ones. It may take a while to get them set in your ear correctly, but once you do they sound almost as nice as my full size Grado SR80's!. They can make even the cheapest MP3 player sound great. They also do a fantastic job of sound deadening once you get them in that sweet spot. I found though that moving them even a fraction of a mm was enough to make them lose the impressive bass etc.You could easily think they "aint all that" if you don't get them set right in your ear. Annoyingly i used to get hold of shed loads of those soft yellow plugs free from work but never had much use for them outside of the plant. Quote
KerryS Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 I haven't heard the Shure in-ear phones but I have used an earlier version of the current Sony MDR-EX71SL in-ear phones and they too are excellent and come with 3 sizes of rubber cups. Like Boomy says, there is a sweet spot to get the base.trble balance how you like it but there's good external attenuation and, AFASIK, give little external noise. They look a bit cheaper than the Shure ones. I used to have a Shure V15III pick-up cartridge on the turntable before the big move to moving coil pick-ups came along that needed a more butch arm than the SME one I had.....upgraditis is an old disease Kerry Quote

Lurksalot Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 Had a touch of Ramsey Hunt syndrome a couple of years back I really must Google that! The Bells was grim but a double barrelled disease just has to be worse! Well now I have Googled it and must welcome a fellow traveller! Cheers Clive I trust your journey has had a success destination I came up a little short but only a fellow traveller would really notice Quote
scott beeland Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 Foam earplugs (M&P big bag of 50 pairs!!) for use with sunnies or IPOD Nano with earbuds for use with Skid lid. Who in the right mind pays £65 for a pair of earplugs? Quote
Man On The Clapham Omnibus Posted September 23, 2006 Author Posted September 23, 2006 Cheers Clive I trust your journey has had a success destination I came up a little short but only a fellow traveller would really notice Yep, and here. For quite a while I had to close my left eye with my finger and tape it shut at night. Even now after eight years people might think I'm smiling a wry smile but in truth I have little choice but to smile a bit asymetrically. Quote
