Ian Podmore Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 The last scenic run of the year for the Derby Notts area will be this Sunday to Thoresby Park. There is a round of the Speed Series which we can spectate at there, plus shops and a nice cafe for the ladies as well. Then drive to Thoresby Park, watch Barney, Andy, Howard & Bunny and wish I was competing, buy stuff, eat, watch some more, the drive back. Route / meeting pionts as follows (thanks Kerry & John): Lichfield/Ashby crews meet with local Derby crews at Morrisons (DE21 4RX) on north side of Derby at 9am near the filling station. Take a detour avoiding most of A38 to pub "Ashfields" and meet up with jak who will take us to Thoresby. This pub has postcode NG17 8HX for those with satnav but is at junction of A38 and B6018. See you all there! Quote
Asterix Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 you're repeating yourself. And you;'re repeating yourself. Quote
Ian Podmore Posted September 19, 2006 Author Posted September 19, 2006 Problem with the forum in Safari browser - I thought I'd deleted the duplication it creates. Now editted! Quote
Hammy Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 I'm game , but whats the north end of the area, not meeting at the clock ? Quote
KerryS Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 Ian Last year we met up at the pub (?name?) near where jak lives. Guess who was last to arrive and it wasn't me. It's on the A38 where the B6018 crosses, Sutton in Ashfield. Alternatively, there's Morrison's carpark on north side of Derby and collect others on the way? Kerry Quote
Hammy Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 Morrisons sounds good, its in me sav nav now - handy for a Pee to ( I've a live axle !) weather and pass out needs to be confirmed, otherwise i'll be there ( 9.00 am ?) Quote
Brum Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 Put me name down......Morrison's is good for us if that suits eveyone else Quote
Mark Stanton Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 In previous years Sunday at Thoresby has featured a large collection of classic and vintage cars in attendance / exhibiting - some quality cars on display these have also driven along the circuit in a slow demonstration run with te commentator reading out all the cars spec and info Maybe an opportunity for a modern day classic to be displayed Quote
Major Stare Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 Morrisons would be an OK meeting point, just back track a little down the A38 to join the new Mansfield ring road. Takes about 40mins to Thorsby from Morrisons. I will see you guys at Thorsby, as im staying over Saturday night Quote

Had a good holiday BTW? Kerry Quote
jak Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 Kerry, I think Fish meant the morrisons in Mansfield. We met @ Ashfield pub last year, and you where early. Might nice to head out towards Newark, there are some decent roads round there. John. Quote
Chris Elworthy Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 If you're passing Derby Rugby Club let me know. I'm there all day sunday. I'll moon you as you drive past Quote
Ian Podmore Posted September 20, 2006 Author Posted September 20, 2006 John (JAK) I was hoping that you'd be coming as you probably know the roads up there better than me! Would you mind sorting out a route for us, plus a second meeting point up your way where we can meet you and anyone else from the Northern and Notts end/side of the area. The 'Southern' contingent will meet at Morrisons in Derby as Kerry has suggested. Ian Quote
KerryS Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 And I can do a less boring route than the A38 to meet up with John (jak). Kerry Quote
