Paul M Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 This sort of comment really annoys me when so many people have put such an effort in............... Who exactly do you think I was having a go at Garry ? I advise you to read my post again carefully. If I was a paying member of the public I would have been very dissapointed in the quality of the exhibition in the halls put on by Limelight and the kit car industry. I had no beef with anyone else, certainly not you or the WSCC. Unless you either work for Limelight or one of the exhibiting manufacturers, why are you angry ? Quote
Garry Bunn - Derby & Notts Joint AO Posted September 18, 2006 Author Posted September 18, 2006 Paul, Your comment was...... "thought the show was very poor", although you do qualify it I still feel its a bit harsh. To me "show" means the whole event and not just the trade stands in the hall. Thats how I feel it comes over. I agree that the stands in the exhibition centre were not that great. I have no connection with Limelight or any other exhibitor. Garry ps. I'll retract the angry bit... Quote
KerryS Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 PS Who won the low key Concours comp? Mark Mason from our own (Derby/Notts) area.....well done Mark. Well deseved too. Mark's car was my standard when I was building mine, but he hasn't got a dent at the back otherwise.... There were some really well finished cars there, a credit to their owners. Kerry Quote

RIP bunny. Only man i know who had a pass out for the weekend then didn't make it 'cos the rabbit took ill!!!!! As for the rest. Well done Garry and his team for all their organising. Thanks loads to Si and Monica for putting me up (again). My house is your house if you didn't get enough of a cleaning fix this weekend Monica!! And Perksy i hope you make a quick recovery. Kaz Quote
Emma Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 I agree with Kaz. Terrible news about the wabbit. Top weekend, the halls were a bit rubbish, but the club stand (especially WSCC) was great, and well deserved best in show / breed / whatever!! Excellent night saturday, good company for the weekend. Get well soon Perksy - I guess you are banned from WSCC do's from now on!!!!! Cheers to Si / Michelle for the entertainment (as usual) n see you next week for more of the same!!! Quote
cast iron Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 Well done Garry should of set up pay and display with clamping for poor parking - would have made a fortune Thanks to the Ding.. sorry Stew and Emm for the accomodation and the rest of the Crowd for the various entertainment Quote
MONICA Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 Hi everyone - we would like thank Scott Beeland for taking care of Perksy after his misadventure . Emma said he did a great job in a difficult situation. Quote
XTR2Turbo Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 I thought that the main hall part of the show felt smaller this year. Ultima did not have their extra marquee this year for example and took the space normally occupied by Westfield. I also thought that somehow there was a busier atmosphere when the club cars were parked out front in the main carpark and from this perspective I preferred the old format. I didn't see many people walking over to the kit car parking area - perhaps it needed a few more signs to attract the first time show goer. I thought the GT40 parade looked good. David Quote

We had PLENTY of visitors on the WSCC stand on Sunday. A good few membership forms went out too Top notch display put on by ourselves I reckon (by far the best club representation) Quote
Buzz Billsberry Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 Top notch display put on by ourselves I reckon (by far the best club representation) As always.... As a club we just do it bigger, better with more passion then the rest Buzz Quote

Hi David, some thoughts on this point...... The change in format was forced on Limelight due to the fact that Donington built compounds for airport parking where the club aresa used to be out in front of the exhibition centre. Also the "old format" was a nightmare for us as a club due to the space restriction, every year we ran out of parking spaces for club members and you can imagine the hassle this caused..... I personally think our infield spot is bang on, when we used to be sat outside for two days you had little chance of watching the track action, although there was a good atmosphere out there and it was always lively.
