I take no pleasure from it - there will be lots of kits out there with little propect of ever hittimg the road.

I suspect the unSVAable "lightweight"was the killer blow...

That poor bloke with that LtWt - I really feel sorry for him. The amount of work he put in.....

Sorry to here about this. Hope their employees manage to find other jobs.

Perhaps Westfield could use the premises as another showroom/collection point? ???

Bummer... But the cars were s**t!

My Dad had one for a few years before I bought the Westfield.

Quality is not a word Robin Hood have heard...

Sad news for the staff but I did read somewhere that Westfield gave a chap a credit note to the value of his Robin Hood deposit (£250 IIRC) when he ordered a Westy kit.

I assume that the new owners saw a huge piece of ordure heading rapidly towards the air movement device and decided that discretion being the better part of valour, pulled the plug. I hope that something can be done to recompense both the employees and the unfortunate owners who have been left in the lurch. Knowing the English legal system with regard to company collapses, though, I doubt it. Maybe some generous lawyer (I know, oxymoron) should help to start some form of class action, if that's a term useable in the UK.  ???

That's bad news, alright - for the employees and for those who have deposits and outstanding builds.

As felters says, I reckon the unSVAable Lightweights will have delivered the killer blow.

Well I'm sad about this for sure. I had no love of the cars, but as a starter kit they got many people involved in kit cars and at the end of the day it was a british company.

Bear in mind that british industry is being killed off by cheap foreign imports and also that elsewhere in Europe (like France) there are no kit cars as they've simply been legislated out of existance.

Tis sad for those now out of work     and for the many owners starting out building their cars

I don't think you need to fear for or worry for the employees. As a company that has been establised for nearly 20 years and has thousands of cars on the road, they will either quickly be bought or start trading again under a new name. I've seen many companies do this then re-open with the same staff/management.

It is only in the last 12 months they have had problems ( new owners, loads of new models, departure from core speciality and impending legal action for unfit product).

It seems RH took his lightweight back in exchange for a 2b kit before they went bust (see the last post on this page) so not as bad as it could have been for him.

I hope he only returned the chassis to them and not the whole car.   :(

Its a very sad situation for all parties. No doubt they will find a buyer though if indeed they are in trouble as everyone says.
