Is it best to use a non setting compound on all new gaskets or just put them on as they are?

Excluding head gasket!

i alway tend to use grease.so easy removable if rebuilt.

and silicone grease on oil seals mating surfaces. ???

if you can get hold of it pro seal aviation gasket seal is fantastic  :t-up:

doesnt dry hard and is harmless if it gets into oil/petrol/water
