xillent2 Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 Chaps, Here's the detail on this months meet. All welcome. The roads for this one are fantastic. 1045-1115 hrs Rendezvous at Innerleithen on Traquair Road. ( Long, straight road going due south from the western end of Innerleithen High Street) We will form up opposite the cemetery (!) - If you cross the River Tweed Bridge going south you have gone 200 metres too far! For maximum enjoyment of the day I recommend those coming from Glasgow area come via Peebles turning first right after Scott's garage (Thames petrol) in Innerleithen, those from Edinburgh take A7, B7007 then B709 to Innerleithen, turning right at junction with A72 and left at end of High Street into Traquair Road (unless they wish to tank at the Garage), and those from South should approach Innerleithen on A72 from east, having come through Galashiels (Newcastle area guys) or Selkirk (A7 guys). 1115 hrs (-ish) Set off over 'Pas des Lacs' via Traquair and Gordon Arms Hotel crossroads to Photo-call at foot of Megget Reservoir. After film used up, move to Tibbie Shiels Inn for lunch which has been programmed for 1230 hrs.(Tibbie Shiels Inn is on the narrow neck of land between St Mary's Loch and Loch of the Lowes - it is NOT the Glen Cafe Bistro above the loch on the A708!!!)) 1400 hrs (ish) drive (Stunning!) scenic routes as detailed. 1500 hrs regroup at Tibbie Shiels Inn. Tea etc available if desired before dispersal. Fuel: Options are Peebles, Innerleithen, Selkirk, Galashiels and Moffat. Recommend top up at Scott's Garage, Innerleithen which is only 400 metres from rendezvous. They are my local garage and 'Seven-friendly!) (Post-dispersal option is visit to Traquair House - Oldest inhabited house in Scotland! - some say still with original residents in habitation!!!!) Quote
