RICHARD 255 Posted August 18, 2006 Author Posted August 18, 2006 I am 99% sure that that ad was posted by the club chairman because the guy bought the car after being offered insurance only to then have the insurance offer removed and finding no other insurance company would insure him. So the guy had no option but to try to sell it if he had been able to insure the car he would have joined our excellent club so this ad was placed as a guesture of good will by the club to help the guy out which I think you will find is alot different than placing an advert to make a mate some money and I for one support the club in this action 100% Barry i was helping a mate out who was a member, but his membership has run out.
Nick A Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 Rules are rules but if one person can advertise for a mate others should be able to no matter what the circumstances wasn't there a simular thread to this recently ? Nick
Ginger Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 I'd agree - I know some people support this, however I don't. However, not wanting to fall out with anyone, maybe a nominal fee for non-members to advertise their car (with funds going to the club) would be an idea...?
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 Well perhaps if Ian had contacted the club chairman, and had a fair reason why the ad should be allowed, the chairman might have put an advert up for him. Instead you just put it up regardless, and then launched your rattle out of the pram when it was inevitably deleted.
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 i was helping a mate out who was a member, but his membership has run out. So not a member then?
Barry Ashcroft Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 There is a difference in helping somebody who used to be a member and now is not and the club helping somebody who was stiffed by an insurance company. QUOTE but if one person can advertise for a mate others should be able to no matter what the circumstances And saying the Chairman was helping a mate is not true
Nick A Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 Ok so mate is the wrong choice of word shall we say on behalf of somebody else ?
RICHARD 255 Posted August 18, 2006 Author Posted August 18, 2006 Same as the chairman mate, so if rules are rules why is the chairman allowed to? Shouldn't the chairman of Westfield be setting the example? Scrutinity should start at home!!! We all get stiffed by some one especially insurance brookers!!
RICHARD 255 Posted August 18, 2006 Author Posted August 18, 2006 I, Therefore, deserve the same courtesy and should of been notified that my add was in breech rather than deleted without conversation. Do you now understand my English Andy BOVVERD
RICHARD 255 Posted August 18, 2006 Author Posted August 18, 2006 SO WHAT ABOUT THEM?????? MORE AND MORE AND MOREAND MORE SO NEXT
RICHARD 255 Posted August 18, 2006 Author Posted August 18, 2006 so add has gone again why this time??
Renmure Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 You are of course in the right. It does clearly look like double standards at play. I doubt that it will get you anywhere tho. In any event, it still seems daft that the Westfield Sports Car Club's 'wanted/for sale' section isnt the first port of call for *anyone* looking to advertise their desire to buy or sell a Westfield. 2p Jim
