Buzz Billsberry Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 After speaking with Sharron Edwards earlier today regarding the event she has sent the following break down: The Westfield Experience live is several events in on one day, I have enclosed detailed information below Event one We will be running a track day for existing customers. Customers are offered 20 minutes per hour from 10am driving their cars on track in a safe environment where they can explore the exceptional limits of their Westfield handling. There will also be experienced instructors at had to help them get the best from their Westfield and to offer advise on how to improve handling Event Two For brand new existing customers there will be a second track running where they will come and test drive our demos for twenty minutes driving with track instruction. Re - creating the feeling of owning your own Westfield. We have 80 places available for this day and all sold out within a week (this is now fully booked) Event Three The Engineering village I will be taking a representative from each department at Westfield and building a “Show” stand area promoting the department. For example we will have seats in various stages of build showing the visitors how the items are made. Event Four A static show area inside a marquee for partners of Westfield who we believe will enhance the brand. Event five Fast laps of the circuits. While everyone would like to think they can drive their cars to its limit, most people cant. We will be offering fast lap rides in our demonstrators by our test drivers from the factory. Event six Karting to keep people entertained while they wait for their test drive / track day Event seven Children’s entertaining – Speaks for its self. Keep the little ones happy and everyone is happy! Event eight Westfield Sports Cars Club will have a dedicated parking area. The owners club will be running a concourse competition. Event Nine Our race department will be bringing their corner weights for Westfield owners to weigh their pride and joys. A small fee will be charged for charity STOP PRESS! Hammy Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006 My car would not make the prescribed noise limit so I can't take part in the £125 touch. Is there an entry fee for those that just want to come along and look ( with/without Westfield) ? Quote
itguy Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006 Is there an entry fee for those that just want to come along and look ( with/without Westfield) ? My thoughts exactly - I'd love to go and watch as I'm only about 30 mins away from brunty Quote
Paul Hurdsfield - Joint Manchester AO Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006 Not THE Sharron Edwards, OMG I thought she went to South Africa years ago She must have come back, better keep my head down. Please dont mention my name Quote

Hammy Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006 Noise limit is on the Westfield flyer - i think its 98db static but don't quote me, Brunny &searchp=newsearch.srf&mapp=newmap.srf]map ( OOPs above is street map) before we get too distracted -is it free to get in ? can't find this on my Westfield E-mail/advert Quote
scott beeland Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006 Bit of a trek for me if there's no camping allowed. Westfield fuel bill AND hotel/b&b makes it a bit of an expensive day Quote
JeffC Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006 cheers, not as far as I thought so whats the track,is it a coned airfield any of the north east clan heading down Quote
Hammy Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006 If yuo follow my street map link above you can see the travck at the bottom. Its basically the central oval with a couple of bends at the bottom (rough surface as I recall) the straight is fast ( did 170 in a porker GT3 down there). Quote
Paul Hurdsfield - Joint Manchester AO Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006 cheers, not as far as I thought so whats the track,is it a coned airfield any of the north east clan heading down Yep its an airfield, I think its one of the longest runways in the country, I'm not sure if its one of the designated emergency landing sites for the space shuttle I did an event there about 20 years ago, they can layout lots of different tracks, and yes the runway is fast Quote
Hammy Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006 just rang the factory - admission is free to rubbernecks Quote
Guest Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006 Hey Guys Just so you know. Everyone is welcome to come along and general entrance is FREE to all. The charge of £125.00 lets you out on track. WSCC has been allocated an area in the marquee and car park. I say the more the merrier This is our first event of this scale and it would be fantastic if we could get as much support as possible. We all know seeing a field full of Westfields is a fantastic sight Anyone fancy a fast lap in a Sport 2000S or an XTR4? Quote
