Gavin Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 I know a few of you guys are going to the revival and just wondered if you are joining in with the whole dressing up thing ? If so what are you wearing ? Cross dressers needn't apply I dont want to turn up and be the only t**t in a westy dressed as a pilot or a teddy boy or something silly. It's not really my cup of tea but I am told just about everyone goes in costume. My dads allready set with his Biggles outfit, he looks a proper t*t. Quote
pistonbroke Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006 Anything out my wardrobe should just about do , only one problem Will it still fit Quote
Kevin Wood Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006 A lot of people do dress in period costumes but it's not compulsory. If you do feel you look a tw*t there'll be someone ready to upstage you on that score once you get there and no mistake. I'm not really a fancy dress type either TBH and I just go in a jacket, shirt and trousers. Not really period but the one way you will look a bit out of place is if you turn up in jeans and a Metallica "T" shirt! Have fun. It's a great event IMO. Kevin P.S. Is that Westfield road in Wellingborough? SWMBO used to live just up the road from there. Meant to take that picture many times but never got round to it! Quote
Gavin Posted August 16, 2006 Author Posted August 16, 2006 Hi Kevin yes it is Westfield Road in Wellingborough. Good job I don't like metallica eh ! Quote
Rob Navin Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 Wasn't planning on going but a mate has just got a late entry! I will be wearing normal overalls and probably be covered in oil ! I'll catch up with you there Liam. Quote
Liam Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 I bought my own this year as I always get there late when the only ones left at sign-on would fit two of you which can be a hazard in a light wind as it results in involuntary hangliding. So I purchased my own from AWS this year and they are spotless but 3 days of Goodwood should put paid to that. I generally find that old and dangerous stuff exudes a lot of pollution and the cars are no better either See you there. Chas will be there spectating with his Dad and there may be others. Seems like an excuse for a meal/beer sampling Quote
peterg Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 QUOTE when the only ones left at sign-on would fit two of you or one Rob Navin Quote
Rob Navin Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 when the only ones left at sign-on would fit two of you or one Rob Navin steady ! Quote
peterg Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 Get yourself a nice old car, dress up in period gear and enjoy... BTW, that's me missus, not me Edited to add, pity I've not got any pics of her on the PC in the nurses outfit she wore on the first day Quote
chazpowerslide Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 I shall be wearing 60s tweeds with all the trimmings (I hope it's not too hot) Jacket and tie is compulsory for the paddock BTW. Not at the usual spot then Liam? Chaz. Quote
Liam Posted August 21, 2006 Posted August 21, 2006 We alternate year to year. Madgewick (we guess) this year. Good for *crowd* viewing as I recall and the racings' pretty good too Quote
