Harrogate saturday

Anyone else apart from me and castiron at Harrogate today. Robin Hoods win by a country mile. Not as many trade stands as before. Dry but not warm. Why was it not well attended. Answers to the boardroom please. Oh by the way, Westfiel stand poor, couple of iffy customer cars for sale....and the only company...as far as I could see....to charge a pound for a catalogue.

Tend to agree. It was a bit low rent, especially factory stand.

There was a nice Stratos and Cobra on Hawk stand.

Other than that Newark seemed better attended. You have to remember it is the middle of the kids summer hols, and a lot of people are away.

I was there.  Mine's the shiny red one at on the second row at the far end with the gazebo packed up next to it incase it started raining.  There were quite a few robin hood's though.  Must have been about 20 or so westies there?

Who was the guy in the megabird?

Yeah the westfield company stand wasn't too special.  The guy on it (richard?) seemed nice enough (he let me take an £80 pair of cycle wings away to see what they looked like on the car anyway).  Didnt notice they were charging for brochures though.

I am the megabird. The green meanie callsign is due to my old car. Must change it. Sold it at Harrogate last year.

Just got back..200 mile round trip (Road works M1 South J36-33  3 blokes working on a section 100yards long in a coned section 3-4 miles long:angry:) 9 quid to get in and all over in a couple of hours .  WF stand was disappointing, I thought there might have been the new body on display.

Absolutly. Why not bring along the new technology rather than hawking off a couple of 'reasonable' cars. You must not have been in your kit car as they were given free entry.

I'd completely forgotten about the new body but now i am a bit confused why it wasnt there.

Only drivers of kit cars got in free, passengers had to pay.  That was a bit silly too.

Had to go in the "tin top", SWMBO, aka the dragon , didn't want leaving at home on her own whilst me and the boy enjoyed ourselves

I had that problem....so left SHMBO at home....must try it more often....quite enjoyable...have to say though....even though events were ltd at harrogate...there is still alot of effort goesin, and we should not loose sight of that...will be there sunday if the sun gods win the play off!!!

I drive with headlights on most of the time.  It's hardly the brightest day today.  And my car isnt very noticable ^o)

I'm from burn bridge (south harrogate) I just followed you cause i wanted to see how quick it was but yeah the traffic was s**t.  I got bored and headed off little ribston way and back through spofforth in the end.

was not the best show westfields all looking well old and new its just the time of year with all the kids holiday one thing l like to no why this time of year for the show but who to no will see next time

I went up yesterday.  It was the worst turn out i've seen there.  The new MX-5 based Westfield SE looked pretty good and there were a few other interesting cars, but not much else.  

I had a really good drive home though, so it was still worth going.

Westfield have been charging a £1 for brochure for years. I guess they got fed up with having thousands of them being nicked be kids with no intention of buying.

And anyone who is seriously interested in building is not going to think twice about a quid are they...
