Mid life crisis Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 That 190BHP xflow is promised to me Just as soon as I can get some money from marketing I know where there's a 200BHP X-Flow if you want just a little more OK bring it on Mark (I am almost scared to ask) where and how much Quote
cast iron Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006 The Scotish system is good, just look at the class record for the class at the venue and work out the points acordingly, if you are the only one, or there are 100 of you, its the same points system. True, but whereas you don't get a penalty for being the only competitor with this system, you instead get a penalty if it rains or is v cold etc. Guy The rain will always create a problem regardless of the points system. It rains often enough mid class causing problems if you are fast but last! Therfore it is the only problem with the bogey sytem, it is fair for everyone on the day, unless the above happens, but as said no points system can counter the weather. See you at Curb's Mark Quote
fordy Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006 I think and amalgamation of A&C and B&D is a great idea - at least the all the classes in the championship will be on even keel - i.e none having seperate novice/expert classes - With prizes for best novice at the year end - and if a Novice does win the championship, then they were obivously talanted, and its deserved. - but being combined it would be much harder for a novice to do so, as shown by Davids Stats. This combined class also makes it harder for a novice to become an expert under the present rules - which potentially solves that issue too. - although i still feel that novice to expert status should happen with 'experience' and not a lucky (or not so lucky) win. Arm Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006 Have to say there is a lot of sense in that Fordy. We can still introduce, encourage and support novices without causing problems elsewhere. Quote

mark.anson Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006 - although i still feel that novice to expert status should happen with 'experience' and not a lucky (or not so lucky) win. I agree Fordy. As a first year novice and not completley sure of how things worked I was somwhat suprised to find I was competing against people who were classed as novices yet had been competing for some time and had driven the circuit numerous times. There has to become a point where you are no longer a novice even if you havent score a win etc. Quote

If the rules are followed I am a bl**dy expert next year. My motivation so far has been to go as quick as I can within my limits. With no more than 10 min on the track at any event!. How on earth can I be called an expert I would gain more track experiance at my local go cart track for 20 quid. . Quote

I could be in that position myself by the end of next year. There must become a point though . Its just a case of where you set it!!! Quote

I agree wish I had enough lateral thinking to come up with an answer. Need a woman to solve this one I will ask her indoors when she gets back off her training course. Quote
cast iron Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 IF we amalgamate the classes then we should also reconsider the CC split and consider going to the MSA splits i.e. 1700cc. 1800's go in with the 2 litres Quote
