Ginger Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 Just realised you said it was the spare harness which was causing you grief - I make sure mine's done up, and the straps tucked into the seat/seat back join. Not possible with some seats though, I'd have thought... Quote
Animal Posted August 9, 2006 Author Posted August 9, 2006 Sorry you misunderstand not the passenger seat which does flap. The slack part of the belt. I'm slim you know Quote
Mid life crisis Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 Sorry you misunderstand not the passenger seat which does flap. The slack part of the belt. I'm slim you know I tuck them into my lap belts, being a short A*** Quote
Messer Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 I found the perfect thing - my mrs came out with some of those cheap copper hair clips (the long thin type) to stop her hair slapping her in the face when I had the doors off... Seconds later, these found their way on to the harness's and have been there doing the job since, you can barely see them too! Quote
John Loudon - Sponsorship Liaison Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 I have some short velcro straps that I wrap around the harness and the loose end. These come from a computer accessory shop for tidying cables at the rear of PCs on office desks and work perfectly. I have used thick elastic bands in the past that are the same flat diamtere ar the strap width (2") slid down the strap itself to tuck the ends into. I have also seen someone using very large flat plastic paperclips in the past. John Quote
sowts Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 i use very thin nylon cord (from an out doorshop 3mm i think) flappy bit has a turned back end and sewn down bit leaving a small tunnel like hole in which the cord goes through passes round the back of the main strap and ties off in a nice littel boy scout knot hope this makes so sence you can then keep the laggy bands for flicking back at the posty!!!!!!!!! just seen picture of your car see me at next derby meet Quote
Liam Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 Elastic bands for me, gave me a fright the first time one broke. Now have a small supply wrapped round the gearlever. Ah, that's what they are for. I though it was a Cossie thing Quote
Liam Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 I've found just the thing Z72229QQtcZphotoQQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem" target="_blank">clicky I dare you! Mark Jackson, calling Mark Jackson Quote
deano.1 Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 I use these clamps from Betterware, they work brilliant, i too got fed up with getting slapped all the time!! Try these Quote
adhawkins Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 I'm not a short-A*** (about 6'2" or so) and my shoulder straps are long enough to tuck into my lap strap. Works fine for me. Andy Quote
tex Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 you could try tie clips - my grandad used to use small chromed spring clip just slipped over the tie to hold it down or a hair clip - they must be tight tho.. tucking them in is ok but if its long as mine is it can need wrapping round a few times..
