Barry Ashcroft Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 There are better ones available do a search the ones made by Steve Molynaux are what I have and so do many others. Quote

alex205 Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 I have recently got a set of Unoplas ones which are very good, they have been formed to match the contour of the bodywork and I prefer the way the top has been finished. They do not cut all of the wind that the "doors" do but it is a small price to pay compared to what you gain in terms of feel noise and vision Quote

Stuart Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 Here's a piccy. Not the prettiest but the guy who made them apparently experimented with different styles to give the best effect (and found that unless you go deep the wind just goes under). Don't think he's on the web but I'm sure someone will be along with a phone number soon. Or do a search, it's on here several times. Quote
MVS Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 I have some of Steve M's off e-bay. Just got them and they look good. Only quibble, but this is being very piccky, would be that the cut edges aren't polished. Edited to say they are somewhat more contoured down the side of bodywork than the piccky above, and come down just as far it looks. Quote
JohnCh Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 This is a pretty poor picture, but if you look closely then you can see the wind wings I made for my Westfield. I experimented with a lot of different shapes and discovered that the bottom needs to extend well below the base of the scuttle and the wind wings must be set at a pretty shallow angle from the windscreen. These were tested on USA2005 at over 100mph and worked great. If folks are interested, then I'll try to take some close up pics tonight. -John Quote

JohnCh Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 its a csr, its caterhams latest invention, a ducted nose! The CSR represents the three breakthroughs Caterham has made over the last 3 years: ducted nose, IRS, and an enlarged cockpit. Very impressive additions to the range -- how did they ever come up with those brilliant ideas? -John Quote
