adamnreeves Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 I have been trying some seats, westfields, etc. I am having trouble getting my torso/back into seats. I am 5'10" weight 78Kgs, 30" waist and chest is 42" What I want is some nice black GRP/carbon fibre type racing seats, certainly no more than £300 per seat. The ideal would be to get some custom made, that would be nice Anyone know anyone that can do this? Quote

Allthough last time I looked at the fluke carbon fibre one, maybe I should check the cost of the GRP version. Play skool looks good actually and looks like the carbon fibre one might be very close to my budget. The back looks wider also, I shall have to try one. Anyone in near the oxfordshire area got the play skool ones that I can sit in? Quote
gumstabber Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 If you wouldn't mind, please keep this thread updated when you've tried the different ones as I'm about the same size as you and am also looking for some nice seats at about the same cost. Quote

Hey, no problem, thread bookmarked. You do likewise. Cheers, Adam. Quote
Mark Stanton Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 I've got a Plays Kool carbon one and its very supportive even for someone taller and wider than yourself Quote
Phil. S Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 I'm 5' 9" with a 43" chest and find the triton GRP racing seat very comfortable,a nd they're the narrow ones. I guess you will be looking for seats for a wide bodied car. Triton (on locostbuilders.co.uk) does those as well. I'd be happy for you to try mine out. I'm in Reading, so not far. The only thing is that I think production of these seats is either on hold or very slow at the moment. Quote

I presume it is on, lately everytime I look it has incorporated blats, which I can understand but not much use for me as mine is still being built. I had looked a Triton a while ago but I heard rumours of bad customer service. I like these Caterham (oops ) style ones. Quote
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 which I can understand but not much use for me as mine is still being built. Does no one have passenger seats? Quote
Mark Stanton Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 Yep .................. a very comfy Tilton kart seat ................... can be a bit tricky trying to get comfy with the cross brace strut down to passenger footwell though Quote
nikpro Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 which I can understand but not much use for me as mine is still being built. Does no one have passenger seats? Obviously not as friendly as us Cheshire Chappies! Although in yours Dave they also need a tooth brush to pick the flies from their smiling teeth Quote
adamnreeves Posted December 20, 2006 Author Posted December 20, 2006 As I promised to update this thread. Haven't got them yet but ordered Some Cobra Roadster 7 type seats. A little tight but I can just about fit in them. The best ones for fit I have tried at the Fluke Motorsport Carbon Fibre EVO ones but cost a lot more than. Also I think if you go carbon fibre then have to maintain that sort of look in the cockpit and I actually do not like the look of carbon fibre! I have photos and specs if you wish to view on my site under November 15 here Quote

adamnreeves Posted December 20, 2006 Author Posted December 20, 2006 This looks good....... 0921QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem" target="_blank">Clicky xmas Yep seen those ones before. I have spent months on and off thinking about what I like, what I want and what will accomodate my frame, what look, etc. etc. and decided on the Roadster 7s. No one can change my mind, I have changed my mind enough times and have decided not to change my mind again Quote
