Hammy Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 sorry mate -just too wet. As you've spent time organising can we do it soon ? Quote
Ian Podmore Posted August 13, 2006 Author Posted August 13, 2006 I did the run, I couldn't have the two dates we'd tried to do this run beat us! I hope Martin has got his car sorted. The B roads were very good, definately worth running again in the dry. Had a buttock clenching moment exiting one corner at 30mph in 4th gear on a mega light throttle as well. The line of telegraph poles alongdide the road suddenly looked like they might jump out in front of me. The rain wasn't bad though, most of the time it wasn't raining, the roads were just wet. Didn't stop at the pub as I was on my own and SWMBO wanted to go out in the afternoon. Anyway, thanks for everyones messages letting me know that the weather was too foul. Quote
KerryS Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 Bl**dy weather. By just after lunch it seemed fine so thought I'd take a run upto Matlock but by Belper it was drizzling and by Ambergate was heaving down Came home, sun came out Kerry Quote
itguy Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 Well never mind eh... It would be really good to run this route again - any ideas of the next available sunday? Quote
Ian Podmore Posted August 14, 2006 Author Posted August 14, 2006 Well never mind eh... It would be really good to run this route again - any ideas of the next available sunday? That's a mighty fine idea. I've not got any more passouts I'm afraid, but please feel free to arrange to get together to do the run when the sun's shining, or at least when it's not raining. The next 'official' run out isn't until Sunday 24th September which will be up to Thoresby to watch some sprinting, there's also a craft type shop there (hide your CC from SWMBO) plus a nice cafe etc to keep SWMBO happy as well. I'd anticipate it being an all day run including the time at Thorseby, but obviously you could just go there, have a coffee and drive back again if you don't have the time. Quote
lespaul Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 Anybody fancy trying this run this Sunday (20th) weather permitting? Darren Quote
Hammy Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 Pending a passout definitely - should have my new rear springs and geometry reset by then ! Quote
chairmangeezer Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 I'll be up for it weather permitting? Quote
