mark.anson Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 Will be doing Anglesea in September for the first time,What is space like in the paddock. Is there enough room for motorhome, trailer and car, or is it car only. Doing the Track day on the Friday and dont want to mess about moving everythng once im set up. Is there a good or bad place to park at this place. thanks Mark Quote
adhawkins Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 Anglesey is one of the bigger paddocks (subject to the currentl work that's apparently going on of course). The finals will give details I expect. I would assume that you might need to move the Motorhome away from where your car and trailer are. However, last year we had Westfield, trailer, tow car and two support vehicles Andy Quote
mark.anson Posted July 28, 2006 Author Posted July 28, 2006 Thanks Andy. what are the facilities like generally. I think ive managd to persuade the missus to come to this event, so im hoping things arnt too basic. Quote
adhawkins Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 Pretty good I think. I've never camped there, but there's a bar at the circuit, and there might even be showers too. However, all bets could be off this year if the building work has already started. For all we know, the paddock could be like a ploughed field I'll get one of the in-laws to go check the place out Andy Quote
barney Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 hi mark, one of the better places to take the family, nice clean showers, beach 2 minutes away, nice panaromic views of the sea and mountains..top place all round.. hth Barney Quote
Mark Stanton Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 Mark Paddock is large and spacious, doubt very much it will be affected by any building works, it certainly won't be like a ploughed field, cos that would affect the day to day running of circuit which earns money and also an H&S nightmare, but hey what do I know, only been in construction game for over 20 years toilets on site are fine, there's a bar and cafe on site + chuck wagon, showers are sited in rally school block. as long as you park westfield, trailer and van in a line there shouldn't be a problem - that only happens when folks decide to park everything to their sides A paddock parking layout is issued with finals, althugh it seems the WSCC tend to park up en masse Camping on site is allowed Friday and Saturday nights, for me I also book monday off work and find a campsite for Sunday night and make a proper long weekend of it. Small play area for young kiddies, loads of walks and sights to see If in a tent then behind the cafe/toilet block gives some shelter from any blustery winds Quote
Mrs Westy Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 showers are sited in rally school block. They've built some new showers also containing a new WC now Mark up by the paddock, opposite the original toilets. Much better Only thing is, the womens ones were obviously built by a very tall man as the shower head was about 8 foot high, and I had to stand on a bench to see into the mirror Last time we were there, there were also electric points for your motorhome if you get there early enough to plug in Quote
Mark Stanton Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 I have a 50m hook-up lead and a 25m hook-up lead + a double-up socket connection Quote
V 8 Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 Is there enough room for motorhome, trailer and car Blimey Mark, you're not bringing the black mariah from work are you? Quote
Mark Stanton Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 QUOTE you're not bringing the black mariah from work are you? I heard she quit her day job last week Quote
Mid life crisis Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 I have a 50m hook-up lead and a 25m hook-up lead + a double-up socket connection First reserve on double electric plug Mark If weather is ok will be bringing van and tribe, if not it will be B&B Quote
mark.anson Posted July 31, 2006 Author Posted July 31, 2006 Thanks for the replies folks. Sounds like a good venue. Will be there Friday for the track day as long as it isnt cancelled. Still only event no 2 so same agenda as curby. Improve times, and dont come last. Mark Quote
adhawkins Posted July 31, 2006 Posted July 31, 2006 and dont come last. Don't be surprised and disheartened if you do come last. I'd done two full trackdays before last year's sprint and was still a good few seconds off the pace. I did win 'Best Beginner' though Andy Quote

adhawkins Posted July 31, 2006 Posted July 31, 2006 I see how close I get to your last years times then. That's the spirit. Should be easily achievable cos I was struggling with brake bias problems all weekend Andy Quote
