GTR2 Demo cars in GTL!

First of all someone unlocked a few more cars for the GTR2 demo and discovered how to add tracks, now you can use some of the GTR2 demo cars in GTL!!.

Ok so they may pee, and i do mean pee all over the normal cars, but at least you get to drive them on tons of tracks.

They are superb on the Spa Francorchamps 1967 track, a superb addon course that is well fast.

Is it any good... i only had the press demo which was Spa in a lister storm or a morgan aero 8 GT?

Where the heck do I download this funky software?!?!?

I'm new to the whole GTR thing... Must confess I'm still on Geoff Crammond's GP4! Bit dated now especially as I have a new PC with high end graphics card.

I bet this software really strains most PCs, just look at the detail!

Any help as to what and where I should download would be much appreciated.

Also, when the full version comes out, is it silly prices due to being a simulator, or is it your typical game price?

Right, the game that has all the old cars is called GTL which is short for GT Legends.

It has capris, escorts, lotuseses etc etc etc.

It is made by Simbin and was an 'old skool' follow up to the more modern game released earlier by them called GTR.

So, GTR and GTL have been out a while now in the shops and people have been waiting for GTR2 to come along.

They just released a demo of GTR2 and someone discovered that you can use some of the cars from it in your full game of GTL.

So, the above pics are of my fully installed and purchased GTL game with a few cars added in from the GTR2 demo.

Did that make sense?.

As for graphics, with everything on max, a full grid and a decent resolution it will make many a PC struggle.

Even if you get it running well by tweaking the various options (including aniso and fsaa) you may find that as it gets dark and the headlights come on it begins to struggle yet again!.

It will depend on your machine and how fussy you are really, but as long as you have a fairly nice machine there are enough options to get a smooth running and nice looking game.

In fact, those screen shots are very average, some of the official tracks where the sun glints through the trees etc make them look bland!.

As for links, go buy GT Legends and we will take it from there.

There are hundreds of add on skins and loads of tracks appearing for it all the time, it's much the same with GTR too.

Personaly i prefer GTL, older cars just flick my switch and power sliding corvettes etc feels far more involving than the high grip modern motors in GTR.

Ahh I see... been a bit out of touch with the PC game world for a while...

Used to use my super duper work PC for GTR demo sessions at lunchtime but alas have moved jobs and now only have a pants PC at home to play with...

Will have to build a new one with some more power before i can get playing again.

I must admit, the more power you have, the more you will get from this game, but you can still have a laugh on lower settings if your PC isn't ninja like.It will need a semi decent spec though to play even on those lower levels.

A few prettier pics that show off some of the lighting and smoke etc.

You can even see rusty exhaust pipes underneath the cars if they roll :-)

GTL is cheap as chips now, 20 quid i think.

GTR was around 25 to 30 quid, so i would think GTR2 and GTL2 when it arrives later will be around the same.

they are both 15 quid in game. i know cos i jus went an bought them
