Ketan Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 I took off the original sump of my brothers xflow, so he can get it gullwinged! As the last two bolts are by the flywheel, there maybe a plate to stop stuff gettin into the gearbox. Instead of hiring an engine hoist to remove the engine, an easier way, which i found out today is to....... ....just take the chassis mounts off the car and just slide the engine forward by 2 inches and you got more than enough space to get to the 2 bolts behind the flywheel. I hope this helps anyone in the future who has to remove an old xflow sump. Ketan Quote
Thrustyjust Posted July 25, 2006 Posted July 25, 2006 Put a couple of socket cap UNF's in there with a wobble drive and you might not even have to move the engine. The spacer plate between the box and engine can be cut in two,so you can remove the lower half,to gain access. Quote
