A big thanks to all at Mallory last week for such an enjoyable, incident free event. Our reputation at Mallory was enhanced by our ability to keep it on the black stuff and run to a timetable.

Seconded.

Only a few sets of black lines to indicate errors of judgement, and surprisingly (to me as well as anybody else) it was not me (probably because I was not pushing hard enough)!

I saw one driver on the grass halfway around Gerrards, in one of my sessions, and someone got seriously sideways on the entry to the esses.  Apart from that I saw one car in the paddock with a bit of minor damage to his nearside rear arch.

Not bad for a day's track driving, when most people seemed to be really on the case.

May have been mine, but that had nothing to do with being on track or me in fact.

If you were showing the damage to Rob Marshall, who was parked near me, then snap.  The damage looked less than when I dragged my rear arch against the garage door jamb the day before my SVA retest, although I was able to cover most of that up with the arch protector once I had passed SVA.

Thanks Graham,

Yep it's insurance job as it's to big a job to strip down for body tub and I haven't got time, so it'll be going to the factory as soon as everything is finalized.

I hear you had yours fired up, looking forward to seeing you out on the road in it. Been meaning to get in touch lately to see how it was going, then met Steve who said he knew you so he told me how you were getting on.

When your on the road we'll have to go for a blat out.

Speak to you soon,

Malc.

Edited to add: It looks great in your avatar  :t-up:

What happened then, or is it too painful to discuss?

Best not to mention it, but ask someone from the Warwick meet they all know by now.

'nuff said.

On the upside, are you going for the new shape tub?

No fraid not, although I do like the new shape tub there's way to much to change to warrant it, plus you can't use wet weather gear.

...and the fuel tank would be way smaller than your long range one Malc.  It has to sit above the diff if you go for the new bodywork and is even smaller than the old standard range tank  :(

Hope you get the car sorted soon and aren't without it for too long...

Ooh err,

I only get 120 miles before the fuel gauge shows empty with the standard tank (takes 20 litres to fill it back up, so I must have about 5 litres spare).  What size is the new tank then?

And seconded on the rebuild, good luck, Malc.
