jiboia Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 Hi, Yesterday i took my Westfield 1800 zetec for a ride and the clutch pedal was very smooth. Very strange. I took it to the mechanical and it is probably a master cylinder clutch's licking. It might be replaced. Does anybody knows from which car , this cylinder comes? I took a look at the westfield online part shop but could'nt find. Thank you for the answer and sorry about my english, I 'm french... Cheers Quote
Blatman Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 Are you sure it's a hydraulic clutch? Most Westfields use cable clutches. If it is a hydraulic clutch, to test the master cylinder, remove the hydraulic line and fit a bleed nipple directly to the master cylinder. Do it up, then press the clutch pedal. If it's rock solid, it's not leaking and you will need to investigate the slave cylinder. If the pedal can be pressed down to the floor, even slowly, then the master cylinder is leaking. You should be able to get a seal repair kit from the manufacturer, who's name should be on the master cylinder cap somewhere. Quote
jiboia Posted July 21, 2006 Author Posted July 21, 2006 Thanks a lot Blatman. It is for sure a hydraulic one and I will test it like you said. Quote
