The Great Fandango Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 Just thought I'd look for a show of hands as to who is camping over the night before at Mallory this week? A group of us will be there with the BBQ fired up. Anyone is welcome to join us - bring your own fold up chair, beers, and a willingness to chop for firewood if it gets cold. REMEMBER - No toilet facilities after close of pub! On another subject altogether... Do we have our own photographer this year and are people planning to buy from that God-awful Reilly Studios? I know I'm probably in the minority, but all I have to say on the subject is they were rude, charged my account without sending me anything, and eventually decided to withhold my photos until Mallory management intervened! Unfortunately, John Reilly has an agreement with Mallory to be the sole supplier of trackday photos at the circuit. Obviously members take their own cameras but if anyone starts advertising the sale of those images he has been known to get very stroppy and complain to the circuit. Even on race days, he kicks up a fuss and ensures all other photographers are representing a magazine or other publication that may be there. I won't be taking any pictures, its a day off for me (and I need it!) but if you want some pics taken of your car then i'd be happy to oblige at a later date. Car Capture may be at the trackday in which case you could ask them to take a couple of you without Mr Reilly noticing. I hope he gets plenty of me and puts them on his website, as I now have my company name on the side of my car. Quote
stu999 Posted July 19, 2006 Posted July 19, 2006 QUOTE are people planning to buy from that God-awful Reilly Studios? I won't be purchasing anything from them. I once went to Mallory on a day organised by Bookatrack. After the first couple of sessions, I was approached by someone from Reilly Studio's, who asked if they could set up a bullet-cam on my car, as they wanted to trial a new service they were planning to offer. The chap added that all footage taken would be burned onto a DVD and sent to me FOC. With this I agreed, and patiently waited whilst they set up the camera on my car. Because of this, I missed all but two laps of my next session. I also had it fitted for the session after lunch. To this day, I am still waiting for the DVD to arrive. I have had plenty of excuses though... Quote
