Danny
I seem to have a problem with my fuel sender. At elvington last month I noticed the gauge went very erratic. At the weekend when I filled up, fuel seemed to be leaking from the sender position and flooding the top of the tank. What is the best way of fixing the sender into the tank? As always any help (or criticism) always accepted.
scott beeland
The sender should have a rubber gasket/o ring between itself and the outer surface of the tank. Maybe that's perished? Westfield or VDO should be able to sort you out
Danny
Just got to my sender, there is instant gasget all round it. The 5 screws were quite loose so ive tightened them up and added more silicone. Is there anything else I can do?
Blatman
Yeah, remove the silicone immediately. Petrol will turn it into a gel, which will sink to the bottom of the tank and eventually block the fuel lines. Get a new gasket from the manufacturer. DO NOT use silicone, or silicone like sealant... ever...
