Molydood Posted July 17, 2006 Posted July 17, 2006 as subject really, about to but a video lanc cable for my canon mv500 digi camcorder. I also want to use it as a remote shuitter release for my (also) canon SLR but not sure if it will work, anybody know? cheers, Martin Quote
adam1330 Posted July 17, 2006 Posted July 17, 2006 It doesn't on my 20D. My LANC has got a 3.5mm type headphone plug on it, the remote control in my camera looks like it takes a round plug with 3 contacts at the end. Quote
Blatman Posted July 17, 2006 Posted July 17, 2006 Shouldv'e bought a Nikon. They use infra red shutter releases. No cables required Quote
Molydood Posted July 18, 2006 Author Posted July 18, 2006 thanks. that is a bummer then, I now have to buy another cable, and the LANC costs £40 already! rubbish yes, agree on the Nikon, but at least having a Canon I dont have to spend all my time telling everybody that Nikons are better like most Nikon users tend to do that was a joke, I think the canon guys are just as bad actually. I would like to try a nikon one day, but all my glass is canon so its not gunna happen I dont think Quote
