Aggh a Tonneau,  is it the spacing of the rivets ?

Yes and any other advice, what to be careful about.

I 'think' the tonneau comes pre riveted so the spacings are standard as far as I know the build manual/or the factory should tell what distance the rivets need to be

I have been wrong in the past though just ask Balters aka Blatman

Nothing fitted to tonneau just a bag of popper fixings for cover and tub.

I suggest doing a search on Tonneau

Peter,

first off you need to fix the bases of the popers to the body - use the dimensions in the build manual for this - they are the same location as if you were fitting a hood (obviously you won't be because of the areo screen.

Lay the cover over the boot area so its fit is snug around roll bar seat belt mounts etc.

mark the rear corners of the toneau where the bases are then fit two popers on each corner making sure the cover is taught along the back.

Fix the very front poper on each side ensuring a good even tension.

mark the locations of the rest of the popers on the toneau and fit.

Cheers guys.I think this is the worst part of the build for me.

Peter,

I agree with all of this except that once you have fitted the popper bases to the body per the positions described in the manuel, you need to start at the middle popper on the back and work out to both sides to get the tension right.

Before drilling the holes that you have marked on the masking tape on the body, lay out the cover and see whether the popper bases are hidden under the cover when placed  in the marked position.

You might find that the positions of the popper bases on the body seem a bit low.  Don't worry provided that the raised 'top hat' part of the base is no more than 5mm outside the stitching, as you need to stretch the cover when you fit it to make it look neat.

This same principle applies if you are fitting a hood, as I have done (although I have only driven the car once with it up - the hood that is ;)  ;) ).
