Bananaman
Austin Widest available in Toyo's are 205's... Kumho's 235's Avons ACB10's 245's (like the ones you've got!!!!) or for CR500's CR500 175/55R13 185/50R13 195/55R13 205/55R13 I ran Kumho's last year in these sizes to good effect.. V70A (Soft)215/50R13's = £73 inc VAT fitted V70A (Soft)235/45R13's = £82 inc VAT fitted Only reason i changed back to ACB10's was weight and a slight advantage in grip, they were quite good in the wet, had two sets one in soft for sprinting and one in medium for track work (the softs were very soft and would have self destructed in a 20min session). They are quite cheap too......... Try Tony at Tyres(South Shore) Ltd.Blackpool if its not to far. Tel. 01253 761362 Regards

RS WST
I estimate I was running about 320bhp on Sunday at Elvington when I did an 11.07 quarter at 138mph. First time I'd done a quarter in it too. That was only at 17psi and I have alot more boost to throw in it yet. The car was an animal in second and I nearly lost it several times and thats in a straight line. It was certainly a brown moment

RS WST
Hi Buzz I think he was going wider on the back Toyo do a 225 in a 15" 888 now
Arm
It might give bling value but may not help traction by going too wide on a light weight car.
RS WST
The wider the better IMO if you have the power. All high power light race cars have wide tyres I'm running 245 Avon ACB 10's and it fish tails all over the place in first, second and third gear. I would hate to think what it would be like with anything smaller on the back.
Arm
QUOTE All high power light race cars have wide tyres Thats cos they have engines at the rear and they also have aero downforce helping to push that tyre into the ground. I take it you have an engine in the rear and downforce also
RS WST
I wondered were I was going wrong. What do you suggest then?
Bananaman
What do you suggest then? WINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
RS WST
Wings are no good when setting off. Only usefull at speed and for track use. Most of my loss of traction is sub 60mph so downforce is not the issue me thinks.
