steppenwolf Posted July 3, 2006 Posted July 3, 2006 The Surrey Area Group attended another of the Goodwood Breakfast meetings last Sunday and the theme was 'Classic British Sports cars'. Twelve cars went in two convoys ( this as a result of recent posts regarding public liability and although we were on the 12 car rule limit, it made sense to split the numbers ) by different 28 mile routes and both lots arrived at Goodwood at the same time - obviously this was planned for by John C and myself having spent hours working out the fine details and no one was surprised when it all went like clockwork This was our second group visit and was all the more successful because of the two convoys - this made it possible to overtake slower cars safely without having to worry about the other 11 cars making it and keeping up which made it much more relaxing from the convoy's leads. There was a very wide range of cars on display including a type IV Lotus 7 I know where Dutton got the plans from now! Highlight for me was an example of my next project:- Weather and breakfast itself were excellent and a really good morning was enjoyed by all. Thank you all those who attended - we are arranging to visit the next one on August 6th when the theme will be 'German Sports Cars' Quote
