scruffythefirst Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 going to southampton in the dax on friday, but can't seem to find any decent routes that don't involve either the m25 or the m3. Any ideas, don't really want to increase the distance too much more than the motorway route? Cheers hugh Quote
langy Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Across to Oxford, down the A34, then on the M3. In other words, no. Quote
Robandcolin Posted June 29, 2006 Posted June 29, 2006 I've driven that route what seems like thousands of times. The best way from a driving perspective is starting in Cambridge I assume. Go to Royston towards the A1m on the A505 Turn right at the traffic lights as you enter Baldok and pick up the A507 as you cross the A1m follow that until the M1 cross the M1 and pick up the A421 through Milton Keynes. (Lots of roundabouts ) Stay on the A421 until you see a sign to Bicester go head towards the A34. Now the boring bit Follow the A34 past the M4 junction shortly after there is a turning sign posted Highclere (A343) come off the A34 down to a roundabout turn right towards andover follow the road until you get to a large roundabout in Andover with a tescos on it take the second left then third exit at the next roundabout then first exit at the next A3057 this road will take you to the M27 just the other side of southampton Its not as difficult as it seems and well worth it honest Rob Quote
ACW Posted June 29, 2006 Posted June 29, 2006 I'd go via somewhere selling an exhaust mounting. Seriously the weld up I did will only last a little while since its inherently goinging to fail hangin it like that. Quote
scruffythefirst Posted June 29, 2006 Author Posted June 29, 2006 I've got a temporary bracket and a big miklor clamp packed just in case. Hopefully get down to simpsons end of next week. Cheers though Quote
