alanb Posted June 17, 2006 Posted June 17, 2006 Hi all, The BARC (South Western Centre) are holding a School Day at Gurston Down Hillclimb on Sunday 25th June in aid of the Broad Chalke School Rebuild Appeal. Gurston Down is near Salisbury. Further details from Dr. Alice Bennett, Orchard House, Bishopstone, Salisbury SP5 4AB Tel. 01722 780730 Email: alicebennett2001@yahoo.co.uk. Places are still available last I heard. This is a good opportunity for novices to take to a hill climb circuit with no pressure on them. All the money is going to help build a new primary school in the local village of Broad Chalke. Quote
Mark Stanton Posted June 17, 2006 Posted June 17, 2006 Notable and worthy cause however the WSCC are also holding a Nat B sprint meeting at Curborough on exackerlleee same date Quote
alanb Posted June 17, 2006 Author Posted June 17, 2006 Mark, not very helpful, this is for novices..... Quote
Mark Stanton Posted June 17, 2006 Posted June 17, 2006 The Curborough WSCC Sprint meeting also has many novices and first timers with much help given by fellow drivers Quote
peterg Posted June 18, 2006 Posted June 18, 2006 Alan, don't take it the wrong way, I've done the Gurston Hillclimb School and it's very good BUT as Mark says the timing of this is unfortunate as next weekend is THE WSCC WEEKEND with blats and a track day with evening BBQ/Disco/debauchery on the Saturday followed by the WSCC sprint meeting on Sunday which (for less than the cost of the school) novices could enter and having driven the track a lot on the Saturday would be well prepared for performing in a competitive sprint Let's hope there are a few Westfield people who can support this worthy event Quote
