JeffC Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 Looking to book some more trackdays , quite fancied Knockers but not driving 3 hours for 2 hours track time Noticed there is one at oulton park next month ,£239 seems expensive for the day Ive never been , so has anyone got any videos of the track to convince me its worth the ride out and the money Quote
Mike dB Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 Jackie Stewart said it's his favourite circuiot on TG last week, does that convince you? If not have a look on jimbocam.com or something similar or jackalsforge.co.uk Quote
pistonbroke Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 Fantastic drivers circuit . pretty expensive at £239 but its a "must do" Quote
flanker7 Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 Great track but as you say a bit pricey. Be careful who you book with thou' as some of the drivers who turn up are just stupid. I lost loads of track time last year 'cos people couldn't drive despite the briefings and an extra one at lunch and one ambulance case. This due to a "dick" going off, stripping his sump out getting back on track and causing the ambulance guy to write off his elise. Racing round the paddock, poor passing procedures, on the left, on the right, into corners, thru corners, you name it went on. Most were great, but a few Manc lads who were "a bit ooo an' a bit ahh a bit wicked man" spoilt it. I think boy racers would be a fair term and not to cast the fine people of Manchester in a disparaging light I generalise greatly as to the main protaganists of the problems I observed. All that said, a great track and test of car and driver, enjoy Quote
Paul Hurdsfield - Joint Manchester AO Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 One of the best circuits in the country for se7en type cars But your paying top dollar there Usually the TVR car club run about two trackdays a year and invite the WSCC I think Andy at Cat motorsport co-ordinates it and may have details of the next one, the last time I went it was about £100 cheaper than what you've posted The only cars on track are TVRs and Westy's (obviously) plus a Ferrari or two, but no tin tops Quote
juansolo Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 Best circuit in the country, open pitlane day, top organiser. Well worth the trip and £239 IMO. Quote

stu999 Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 Fantastic track Jeff - just get it booked! I've been there around ten times now, and I never get tired of the place Tip: Druids can bite - especially first thing, or if it is damp Quote
DickieB Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 As long as its not the short circuit - you miss lots with that. Medium or ideally long circuit. The bacnked hairpin on the long circuit is amazing in a 7 Quote
Mark19800_0 Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 Motorsport Vision These might be cheaper for Oulton Park PM me details of when you will be there, its only 30 mins from mine and I would like to come along to watch.
