It's nothing to do with children, it's about risk assessment.

And thats why there are speed limits!

You guys may be safe driving your car, be it Westfield or tin top but there are some that drive like you will not believe in a real iffy situation.

Camera's may make revenue but if you drive to the speed limit, what's the problem?

Love to see anyone maintain 20 mph in a congested area like we have around wigan .

In the event that was possible ,

would it not become a case of "driving without due care and attention" if you drove around with your eyes "glued" to the speedometer so as to make sure you did not infringe the speed limit ?

just how accurate is your speedo at 20 mph ?

why is it police drivers often become victims of the same speed camera farce , surely these specialised trained advanced drivers can drive at the required speed limit .

If they cant drive at 30 , 40 , 50 mph whatever all the time

is it fair to expect "normal " road users to be able to be better drivers .

If speed kills and dropping limits is the way forward, then why not go back to a flag system?.

I'm not sure a flag would be enough of a warning for those socially irresponsible pedestrians who dare to listen to ipods and cause accidents...

I though we had gone back to a flag system. I've seen lots of people annoucing their intention not to drive safely by displaying a flag on their car - it usually seems to be a white one with a horizontal and a vertical stripe in red.

I saw a speed camera on the A30 yesterday (not in the roadworks) with an orange bag over it.  Written on the bag was 'Not in Use'.

I guess the accident danger area must suddenly have become not an accident danger area then.
