potster Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 See/PM Martini Mike on the boardroom. He sells Body Spec googles/glasses. Like Wileys but a bit cheaper and just as good IMHO Quote
a4gom Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 i'll 2nd potster on that, i had some wiley's but changed for some of mikes, better fit for me. both good gigs though. none of them are really cheap so imho its best to try before you buy. Quote

stu999 Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 Do a search for 'goggles' on Ebay. You will find some goggles by the name of 'Choppers'. Seemingly identical in every way to Wiley XL1's, and no where near the price... I'll be back in a mo with a link... Quote
stu999 Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 1QQcmdZViewItem" target="_blank">Ta da! Further down the page you can see all of the lense colour choices on offer... Quote
stu999 Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 But are they ballistic lenses? Andy Why? You going shooting? Quote
Darrell O'Neill Posted June 14, 2006 Author Posted June 14, 2006 But are they ballistic lenses? Andy Why? You going shooting? Thats the bit that concerns me with the cheaper items....I may not be shooting either but would like the reasurance of balistic lenses... Quote
BN-ZE-11 Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 Mine broke (choppers) in the first week I had them, they broke where the straps connect to the arms. I've now brought a pair from here (model eagle) and am very pleased with them. Quote
melt Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 Body specs from Mike clicky Really good goggles/sunglasses, covers all you requirements! Mel Quote
chappers Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 XL1's are currently £45 from blatchat on the L7C site including £5 donation to NTL, if you know a L7C member. Price includes frames, clear and dark lenses, headstrap and bag. Quote
a4gom Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 I believe this is what I have I have glasses with interchangable strap / arms, the foam gasket is easily removeable if using arms. Mine came with polarised lenses, clear lenses, yellow lenses, all lenses come in seperate packets in a pouch with lense cleaning cloth. Top gigs imo. Quote
Paul Hurdsfield - Joint Manchester AO Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 I got a pair of the BS twins from Mike, these are able to accept prescription lenses (which i have) and retain the interchangeable ballistic outer lens (smoked and clear) they are a reasonable fit on me, I only have a small head, but they do keep out all the bits of crap you get around your eyes when driving open top cars, the only problem I find is because they are effectively double glazed but not hermetically sealed, when I stop for any length of time they do steam up, so I have to keep swapping to my std specs when I get out of the car Quote
