Knightmare Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 Clutching at straws here, but you don't ask you don't get and all that. Looking for something like the Plays Kool or Westfield part rather than the smaller deflectors. Black or carbon doesn't really matter - don't want much do I? Cash waiting. Jon
Rob Navin Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 May sound daft but have you tried Paul at Playschool. Last time I spoke to him he was still getting the carbon and fiberglass stuff. Rob
potster Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 Yup recently bought and fitted carbon aeroscreen from Plays Kool. Gets my vote! Looks very
Knightmare Posted June 1, 2006 Author Posted June 1, 2006 Thanks guys. I know what I want, just trying to save a bit of a cash and see if anyone had a spare or swapped back to the full screen. Actually, one question Potster, is it still relatively easy to switch and use the original screen if you want to, or is it a case of one or the other?
potster Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 wouldn't be too hard to swap back. The main problem would be what you do with the wiper spindles and washer jets as these will probably get in the way of the aeroscreen. Unless you go for something like This which is what I use to have fitted when I swapped between the 2. But to be honest once you've tried the car with aerocreen you won't want to go back Oh and before anyone else beats me to it, get a helmet if you do go for an aeroscreen
Knightmare Posted June 1, 2006 Author Posted June 1, 2006 Thanks, but it doesn't look quite as good as the proper aeroscreen. Already have a helmet from my biking days, (the westie was an acceptable compromise as far as her indoors was concerned).
Martin Keene Posted June 2, 2006 Posted June 2, 2006 I took all my wiper gear out when I fitted the aero, but I reckon if I wanted to go back for any reason it could all be easily re-fitted in a couple of hours. If you were serious about swapping between the two that could be reduced again by leaving the washer system in place and possibly leaving the wiper motor in place and just removing the wheel boxes and linkage. One think to think about though, I have *never* heard of anybody going back to a screen after fitting an aero. I know one guy who spent a huge ammount of time mounting his dashboard to the chassis and making the whole scuttle quick release. He then had one scuttle with the new aero mounted on and the existing one with all the screen, wipers, washers, etc... Tried it with the aero and the full screen never went back on and it was ebayed a year later!
Knightmare Posted June 2, 2006 Author Posted June 2, 2006 Point taken Martin, thanks. Anyone got a number for Play's Kool as the one on the website and brochure is not recognised?
