I had an idea it was something like that.

Why don't you simply keep the plates on retention certs?

Or, buy a scrap Honda C90 or A N Other moped for as cheap as you can, keep the log book but "dispose" of the useless bike, and swap the numbers on that? Takes up no space, it can be declared as sorn, so no road tax ever, and no insurance or running costs, just profit...

Yeah insure an old miny moke or a real crapper to build up your no claims bonus aswell!

Tis what i done before company car insurers were flexible,

With your list of requirements unless it absolutely must be a Westie, it may well be worth looking at the alternatives such as the MK Indy and other Locost derivatives. There's plenty of blade / R1 / ZX9 cars around for under your budget and they'll be just as much fun on track. Also an added benefit would be that you may well get a virtually new one within budget, meaning (I think?) that you'll be able to put a wider range of personal plates on it, because as I understand it you wouldnt be able to put SL55 AMG numberplate on a 2003 car, and realistically the cheapest Westie BEC you're going to get at £9k is probably going to be 3-4 years old at least.

cheers

At least a couple of potential candidates here, the MAC1 doesnt say what reg its on but is a 2004 car, the grey Phoenix is on an 03 plate, the Fury blade is on a Y plate etc etc

hi guys thanks for all of your replies - big thumbs up to wscc for having a great forum and loads of helpful peeps.

Yeah a newer car would mean you can put newer plates on it but I deal in 'dateless' numbers eg 1 BTY etc which can go on any age car.  :)

Let's hope i get my hands on a westie soon - i can't wait  :p
