Major Stare Posted May 28, 2006 Posted May 28, 2006 Really interested in a SATNAV unit but the choice is endless. My budget is roughly £200, any recomendations, TOMTOM's are too big and bulky. Quote
karlgurney Posted May 28, 2006 Posted May 28, 2006 Do you have a smart phone, got tomtom mobile on my 6630. Some cheap deals on ebay, including phone, bt gps and software. Quote
Major Stare Posted May 28, 2006 Author Posted May 28, 2006 Dont want it on my phone as i may be getting rid of it (and using company phone), so a SATNAV unit is preffered. Quote
Barry Ashcroft Posted May 28, 2006 Posted May 28, 2006 Got a TOM TOM Go 300 can't fault it does what it says on the tin Quote
RobC Posted May 28, 2006 Posted May 28, 2006 I have a palm with tom tom 5 on it... TOM TOM is be far the best software on the market too Quote
Major Stare Posted May 28, 2006 Author Posted May 28, 2006 Blimey, this seems a good price ? Seems a good unit Quote
itguy Posted May 28, 2006 Posted May 28, 2006 Go with TomTom jon - best product by miles... loads of POIs available inc the speed camera database Very easy to use and quick re-routing Quote
adhawkins Posted May 28, 2006 Posted May 28, 2006 A vote from me for the Garmin Quest. Probably more than 200 quid, but it's waterproof so you can use it in the Westfield too It even survived last years (mildly moist) C2C Andy Quote
MVS Posted May 28, 2006 Posted May 28, 2006 My vote would be TomTom One. All the benefits, low price, small size, & works, used one for 2 months. Quote
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted May 28, 2006 Posted May 28, 2006 Another vote for the Tom Tom One - it's quite a bit thinner than the older Tom Toms. Very impressed with mine so far. Quote
Major Stare Posted May 28, 2006 Author Posted May 28, 2006 Would TomTom ONE fit in your pocket, the TomTom's ive seen are big and bulky. Quote
MVS Posted May 28, 2006 Posted May 28, 2006 Will fit in a pocket, depending whether you wear loose fit, or this trendy skin tight stuff. In which case you've no chance with any sat nav. It is a lot smaller than the GO's pod shaped affairs. Nip down to PC world or Curry's etc they normally have them in on display. PC world did have em cheap on some offer, could'nt find one cheaper even on the www. Quote
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted May 28, 2006 Posted May 28, 2006 Fits in my coat pocket OK, even in the semi rigid protective case I got to go with it. Quote
KerryS Posted May 28, 2006 Posted May 28, 2006 Aldi had a dfecent looking system for £150 last week but they'd all gone when I got there Kerry PS Need to change from "Unemployed fish" now Quote
