Paul Hurdsfield - Joint Manchester AO Posted May 26, 2006 Posted May 26, 2006 Its in Oldham, and I dont recognise it, I'm not saying I know all the Westy's in Oldham, but I know most of em Quote
MVS Posted May 26, 2006 Posted May 26, 2006 Looks like a salvage recovery, not necessarily local to Oldham. Nice engine, but looks like it needs more work than he says, prob new chassis or at least re jigging, mostly new body, front suspension, L-rear suspension, upright & brakes. It would make a nice project, to strip this and build onto a new chassis. I don't think I would be happy doing it any other way Quote
Stevo Posted May 26, 2006 Posted May 26, 2006 Built with all new parts... wonder where he got new Sierra uprights from? Quote
Mark19800_0 Posted May 26, 2006 Posted May 26, 2006 Was on Universal Salvage last week. He paid £2900 for it! Mark Quote

adhawkins Posted May 26, 2006 Posted May 26, 2006 If the e-bay listing is incorrect, then I might be tempted to inform e-bay of this. I'm sure they'd be interested. Andy Quote
Ian Podmore Posted May 26, 2006 Posted May 26, 2006 If the e-bay listing is incorrect, then I might be tempted to inform e-bay of this. I'm sure they'd be interested. Andy The ebay listing contradicts itself let alone not being accurate! It states 3 different engine suppliers, and how can a car that cost £24k to build only have a £2.5k engine in it And why would insurance pay out the full build cost (near enough) 18 months after it was built. It's utter rubbish. Go for it Andy. I'm sure they'd be interested in the info on this thread....... Quote
david matthias Posted May 26, 2006 Posted May 26, 2006 £13.500 to build I am considering telling ebay what powers do they have? Just a bit gutted at the minute. I wish i had known it was up for £2,900 I would have been there faster than a fast thing. Quote
adhawkins Posted May 26, 2006 Posted May 26, 2006 I am considering telling ebay what powers do they have? They can withdraw the listing to protect buyers. I'd be contacting them if it were me that had the info. Andy Quote
evosal Posted May 26, 2006 Posted May 26, 2006 Was on Universal Salvage last week. He paid £2900 for it! Mark Well you are wrong on that point because i purchased the car from universal but the price was £4000 We have now sold the car to a trader in oldham who is the person selling it on e-bay Quote
Camel_Landy Posted May 26, 2006 Posted May 26, 2006 £13.500 to build I am considering telling ebay what powers do they have? Just a bit gutted at the minute. I wish i had known it was up for £2,900 I would have been there faster than a fast thing. E-mail him & tell him that he really needs to let you buy it off him for £2900... Otherwise, you'll be contacting eBay (and his employer). M Quote
david matthias Posted May 28, 2006 Posted May 28, 2006 Good news Neil & his 14yr old lad escaped with only minor head & neck injuries. Despite taking out about 30ft of hedge! I have spoken to the advertiser & he is saying that he is advertising it as described to him by the insurance company from which he bought it! Strange as it would seem it has been sold by at least two people/company's previously. Sorry don't know if evosal is a company or individual. I am also puzzled why he is not selling it complete with the age related plate it had on it. Other than to support his claim that is was new in 2004. The whole thing is very strange! David Quote
