It's a pitty Westies dont have back seats, think of how much weight you'd save just by folding them down.

Everyone.....Martin has history in this arena :D

Think he got his technical tips from the guy at my local Halfrauds  :D  :D

How can laying his seats flat reduce weight ?? He says it is like when you crawl flat accross a frozen lake !!  :D  Doh, this doesn't reduce the weight it just spreads the weight load across the surface.

Check out his profile !

Interests: Driving, Music, Cooking, Animals, Cycling. Oh and my favourite, blagging test drives in Performance Cars and Supercars.

Would you really let him out in a ferrari for a test drive with 89psi in the tyres ???  :p  :p

It's a wind up.  Got to be.

" Vertical seats exert more downward force because the energy is focused on a smaller surface area. When horizontal, the weight is spread and so is less per Centimetre squared "

Wonder if He's had it in a windtunnel to prove this one

Wind up

Dont knock it , I for one  have to agree with the guy .

Although having 38 psi in each tyre will make them heavier and therefore  negate the weight saving factor of the lowered seats   :t-up:

It can be shown  that any lowering of  rear seats will directly effect the Center of Gravity and therefore result in a lower polar moment of inertia , thus improving cornering power

:t-up:

That is why little fat A*** drivers ( no names here ) are generally quicker around a given corner than tall drivers with big heads e.g. J Clarkson   ;)

Isn't it interesting how Westy owners end up on such forums....  :D
