Rob Navin Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 Just thourght I would let you know about my experience with TRS harnesses. I needeed a new set of belts for the Micra and sfter talking to Paul Gladdish at the Historic Show I was taken by the TRS belts on the spec. I finally got round to ordering a set on Friday at about four PM. They arrived this morning and I am realy pleased with them. Threy also do three and four points for Westy's. Well worth a call if you are after some. The web site is here Or call Paul on 01256 400650 Got to go and bolt them in the car..... Quote

a4gom Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 Just had a look at their site and on the front page they qoute "Safety harness regulations:On 1st January 2006, all harnesses used in most MSA events must be FIA homologated and in date. This mandatory FIA homologation has brought the UK into line with the rest of Europe. Harnesses are clearly identified by an FIA homologation which is sewn into the webbing near the quick release buckle. All parts of the harness must have a valid FIA homologation label and be identified as being part of the same set. The FIA homologation label states “NOT VALID AFTER (Date)” Once this date has expired the harness is no longer FIA homologated and will be refused if presented for scrutineering. I have a 6 point harness which runs out of FIA homologation this year, my interpretation of the rules (as they stand at the moment) means I will still be able to use them after this date as long as its not an international event. Is this correct? I am assuming this is correct and thats why they put the word 'most' in all harnesses used in mostMSA events must be FIA homologated and in date Quote
cast iron Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 all harnesses used in most MSA events must be FIA homologated and in date If you are running in the road car class you dont even need a harness, technically they aren't legal on the roads so should fail an MOT. Personally I would argue with the tester and fit the best harness I could get. Quote
