felters Posted May 19, 2006 Posted May 19, 2006 Trying to find a MG Midget donor... the prices on Fleabay are outrageous Autotrader seems to have a couple of bargains in comparison. Is this generally the case or is it just me? Quote
Hammy Posted May 19, 2006 Posted May 19, 2006 Dunno You could also try something like practical classics ads section. Quote
steve_m Posted May 19, 2006 Posted May 19, 2006 Try Classic Car Weekly, a newspaper style weekly magazine, 90% of it is private ads, usually loads in there from £500 up to £000's, Sainsbury's sell it alongside Motorcycle News etc. This week the cheapest is £900 for a 1500cc rubber bumper but it's the time of year probably. Austin Healey Sprite for £1250 if that's any good. They also have a page of classics for less than £1000 towards the rear of the magazine. Quote
Blatman Posted May 19, 2006 Posted May 19, 2006 Depends how you look at the market place. I see Ebay as simply another resource. I'm not sure if Ebay has much effect on the market place as a whole, especially for older vehicles, but it at least gives you somewhere else to hunt for a bargain... Quote
DavidR Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 How about MG owners Club or is there an MG Midget register? I have usually found that enthusiasts are pragmatic about when a car is only fit for spares and could be a reasonably priced source. David Quote
