tyetune Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 The exhaust on my sprint car is getting tatty, looks like 2 Rover silencers welded together! Manifold is Westfield item (I believe), what is the best route to go down on a budget for a replacement, that won't restrict power but should meet noise requirements at most circuits? Its presently on 40DCOE Webers. Cheers, Nigel Tye. Quote
Mark Stanton Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 on a budget for a replacement Really does depend on budget There's SBD, Wunoff, Tony Law who can supply systems + check out bulk buy organised by Paul Ash for Simpson Perhaps none are what may be described as a "budget" system but worth contacting to see whats available Quote
Terry Everall Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 Also Martin Keenan ( ex MK cars ) is doing silencers etc and is based in MANSFIELD AREA Quote

Paul Ash Posted May 24, 2006 Posted May 24, 2006 Simon Besant simpson exhausts fall apart and when you complain you are told "what sort of attitude is that! Well after returning twice and they are still not right what sort of attitude should you have? Simpsons have requested that I post there response. In reply to comments made on this site regarding a V8 Westfield fitted with Simpson silencers. The customer’s problem were addressed immediately and corrected straight away and has stated to us on the phone yesterday that there are no more problems, and he can’t knock the quality of our workmanship. When somebody says that they fall apart there is nothing we can do to stop the silencer mounting brackets breaking if the engine mounts are so soft that they leave the exhaust system flapping around In the wind. We do not make mounting brackets from 6mm thick angle iron because that would also be wrong. Simpson Race Exhausts Quote
simon besant Posted May 26, 2006 Posted May 26, 2006 now i know what prompted the telephone call and i thought it was just good customer service. what the hell lifes too short yes the exhausts do the job well they are whisper quiet have increased performance and if they stay mounted (original silencers from westfield had no problem for 9 years) i am overall happy. By the way the engine mounts are brand new! Quote
