Ravan Posted May 12, 2006 Posted May 12, 2006 Hi, I am a new member - joined at Stoneleigh but not yet able to register - and picked up my first Westy yesterday evening. 130 mile fabulous drive home mostly M1 & M6 but then on the 'A' roads had an even bigger grin on my face as it really came into it's own! Any members live in the Sutton Coldfield area? I have seen a few Westfields driving around recently and it would be great to meet up somewhere. Mark. Quote
adhawkins Posted May 12, 2006 Posted May 12, 2006 Check out the 'Local Events' section of the main WSCC Web Page. You should be able to find an area meet relatively close to you. Welcome aboard. What have you got? Andy Quote
gadrego Posted May 12, 2006 Posted May 12, 2006 I grew up in Sutton Coldfield. Often down there in the Westfield (when its working) visiting the folks. Keep your eyes peeled for a navy car with a yellow nose. and congratulations on the new purchase. Quote
Ravan Posted May 12, 2006 Author Posted May 12, 2006 Hi Andy, 1998 factory built SEiW, 1600 CVH, twin Webbers, fast road cam. I know it's not as fast as many but suits my purpose and so far seems great fun. Have already put my WSSC sticker on the back! Off for a factory visit tomorrow so will probably lighten my wallet a little more!! Mark. Quote
adhawkins Posted May 12, 2006 Posted May 12, 2006 You have to start somewhere Any Westfield is likely to feel quick compared to most affordable cars on the road. The handling is likely to be an awful lot better than you're used to too, and you can't put a measurement on the smile factor Andy Quote
Tony Hughes Posted May 12, 2006 Posted May 12, 2006 Welcome! Not sure who your local organizer is but you're not far from the Warwickshire area meeting place - the Falcon at Hatton - between Knowle and Warwick - 3rd Thursday of the month. Maybe see you there sometime - next meeting is this Thursday 18th May. Tony Quote
