nlash Posted May 8, 2006 Author Posted May 8, 2006 Wish you'd stop tempting me Nigel Kerry Sorry... I've hung on for long enough... even bought a D200 to try and stop my own temptation getting the better of me... but its no good... I gotta have a D2X !!!
KerryS Posted May 8, 2006 Posted May 8, 2006 Been "lent" a EOS300D for free, so bit daft to spend more £££ really. But have a bit of a Nikon thing. Got my FA (unfortunate name) out at the weekend and found battery leaked so needs a bit of TLC Kerry
nlash Posted May 8, 2006 Author Posted May 8, 2006 300D is a good camera. If the FA needs pro attention, I have found Lehmanns in Stoke to be very good and reasonably priced. Lehmanns
neilwillis Posted May 9, 2006 Posted May 9, 2006 You do realise after Canon gear, using Nikon will be a little strange, cuz they focus in opposite directions. Took me an age to get over that, especially sports stuff! Though I suppose this new fangled stuff means you never touch a focus ring lol. Of course if you want real quality you have to buy Leica! Hope you're rushed off your feet there Nige!
Bean Posted May 9, 2006 Posted May 9, 2006 The Nikon D70s is a great camera, I've tried out or seen most of the Nikon range. Nikon are a customer of the company I work for, so we get to play with their kit

nlash Posted May 10, 2006 Author Posted May 10, 2006 Price dropped to try and gain interest before it hits ebay. C'mon guys, this is a good price for what is a totally mint camera
Morbius Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 PM Sent. I used to have a Nikon F350 35mm a few years ago. Sad to see it go, and my Ricoh's shutter has just packed up so it may just be time to go digital.
nikpro Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 I've hung on for long enough... even bought a D200 to try and stop my own temptation getting the better of me... but its no good... I gotta have a D2X !!! I'd hang on to the end of the year; Nikon will be bringing out a new sports SLR to replace the D2Hs; the D2x will be due for replacement in around 14mnths time also. What is your main photog. subject? If it is sports then I'm affraid Canon rule the roost (i'm a Nikon user and that hurts to say) Unless you have loads of expensive glass then consider a system change as well. (I have 2 xD2h's and a D2x and the D2x hardly gets used; I prefer the colour rendition of the D2h; for all it's critics I love the LBCAST sensor; just takes time to learn)
