Hi can anyone help with this question I have an 1800i Zetec and I'm finished module 4. The engine as supplied new has a pipe from the inlet manifold that isn't connected just flapping in the breeze! It looks like it should be some sort of re-breather and perhaps should connect to a a shorter pipe from the other side of the engine that is also not connected at present. When I say pipe I mean thin bore rubber hose. If someone has some pics or an engine diagram that would be a big help. Emailed Westfield with same question but no answer as yet! :bangshead:

My Zetec used to vent direct to atmosphere. I think it was a pipe on the exhaust side of the engine though...

Check out Steppenwolf's build site (find his profile and it'll be linked from there) or David East's site. One of them is likely to have some info.

The one on the exhaust side is the crankcase breather and this can either be vented to atmosophere or to a catch tank. Not certain which you mean on inlet side but if its the one im thinking of then this thin pipe is coming of the pressure regulator that is attached to the fuel rail and on ford standardard injection is fed into inlet manifold. If using westfield set up this can be again fed to either atmosphere or catch tank .I think its purpose if a fault developes in this regulator ie starts leaking fuel at the regulator then any fuel seeping past is fed  into inlet side.On the westfield set up i think most people vent to catch tank.
