robthehungrymonkey Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 What is the situation with MOT's and cars runing with a digital speedo to replace the original one that is disconnected? Anyone have any experience of this? Quote
Man On The Clapham Omnibus Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 They don't seem to care if th speedo even works. Mine reads a bit off and I have a bike speedo from 'alford's for more accuracy. No comment has ever been made. Quote
Blatman Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 The speedo on the race car has been disconnected for 3 years. No problems at MOT time... Quote
Paul S Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 I asked my MOTter whether there'd be a problem presenting a car without an odometer, and he said no. He would fail a car without a visible speedo, although they don't check if it's working. So, as long as you point to a device that could be a speedo, then he'll be happy. He might baulk at skimpy swimming trunks though Paul Quote

Lurksalot Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 Is it fair enough to disconnect for track days as I don't look at it any way, and the track day miles would count against my insurance miles . Quote
