GWatson Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 I have had my Road Angel PLus for over one month now. While being very impressed with the wide range of services the device provides, I have to say I am very disappointed with one particular function. Up in the North East of Scotland, the Road Angel very rarely indicates mobile sites. I drove the same route with my friends device. It picked up over 8 potential camera site within a 15 mile stretch which is much more realistic, whereas the Road Angel picks up zero. His device, a Talex Lite, costs less than £90 yet has a much more comprehensive database with free updates. I purchased a Road Angel because of the reputation it has, perhaps they work well in England, but I don't have any confidence using it up here. Also I have had two cops pointng their hair dryer at me and it's never alerted me.... Anyone else had any problems? I've written a letter and demanded I wanted to return the device and cancel my direct debit for the subscription. Graeme Quote

Blatman Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 Also I have had two cops pointng their hair dryer at me and it's never alerted me.... Depends what the hairdryer was. If it was a laser, then it needs to be pointed directly at the detector for the detector to see it. The beam is *very* narrow, much narrower than a radar gun beam... Quote
