V 8 Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 Well guys, after a long hard winter nut & bolt rebuild, some teething problems at the beginning of the season, starter motor failure, gearbox jam, brake bias problems & running on 6 cylinders, the Flymo ran perfectly at Ollies this weekend, resulting in 2 class wins with yet another FTD for the car, but the first with me in it. Main opposition being from 5 BE racing cars Thanks to all those who have helped me get there, and phone calls of encouragement. Especially Rob Navin, Derek Hodder, Mick Cooper & Paul Aspden, and my good friend Graham in my village for support beyond the call of duty. Here's hoping transmission dificulties are a thing of the past Ollies was, as ever, the best hill in the country, with 6 runs on the Saturday, 4 on the Sunday & no rain. Cheers all and see you soon Tommo Quote
Mrs Westy Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 Well done Tommo, looking forward to seeing the Flymo out and about again soon Quote

davidgh Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 Now that would have been an FTD speech I would have wanted to hear. Tommo I hope you used the usual terms: "unaccustomed", "modesty forbids", etc. Many congratulations -- and good to see you getting some luck for once (with the weather -- it has pi$$ed everywhere else ) Quote

John Loudon - Sponsorship Liaison Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 Well done on the FTD Tommo. I had no idea yoiu had done it! I did a blitzing last run and scooped 1st in class myself. Unfortunately the organisers had deemed it appropiate to give my pot to our northern buddies who didnt do a last run before checking the final times Anyhow, it felt sweet on the way home but even more so foryou I guess John Quote
Paul@Plays-Kool Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 NIce one Tommo! The first of many I don't doubt. All that work has obviously paid off, is it the new colour yet? Paul Quote
