SEiW/SDV shock length and spring wieghts

I understand what you're saying Blatters & it's plausable, but in practise the lower spring rate does work fine, my car along with all other speedsports is fitted with 200LB 2.25ID front springs + 160LB 2.25ID rears and it works spot on imo.

If you have arbs you can run slightly softer springs aswell as having the shocks on a softer setting, this helps with grip especially for road use (over bumps etc) & means the arb is doing the job of controlling body roll rather than the shock & spring, it also seems to give a better ride quality.

I am considering changing my front springs though as since I moved over to GTS widetrack the wishbone mounting point is moved out approx 10mm so 250 - 275LBs might be in order.....

Niot saying they don't work fine, it's just that *IMHO* they're a bit soft and that perhaps something a little stiffer may work better. The Zetec is not so light that it's a million miles away from Vx weight, and most Vx's run stiffer than 220lb springs, even with ARB's. In the battle for handling balance, pitch is (should be) a concern, as should roll. But as I say, this is just my opinion, based on the numbers we are discussing. Everyone else will have a different opinion, and will no doubt jump all over me... again... :p:D
