Anyone know the part number, for a 2.0 Zetec. I understand that the Mondeo one is to big. The previous owner said it was a Cooper Z107, Halfors only has Champion and own brand. Ive done a search with no luck.

If it's the same as the 1800 zetec filter I got from Halfrauds, which was a shorter one to prevent it rubbing against the steering column, then I'll check tonight and post it up. :)

I don't have a champion part no but see if they can cross reference these-

Mahle OC 11 or FRAM PH2830

Otherwise just ask for a filter to fit a 1.4 Renault Fuego 1980 - 1984. ( bought one last night funnily enough).

Cheers,

The short Oil Filter suitable for a 1800 zetec is Halfords Part  No. HOF264

My 1800 Zetec came with a filter which I traced by part number as a Ford 1600 Zetec unit. If this is any help. Fits OK.

I fitted a HOF266 to my 2.0 Zetec, think it's from a Renault 5.

I fitted a Champion C104 to my zetec about 2 weeks ago.

The C104 was the one I used on my 98 SEW so naturally that's what I purchased for the 91 SEiW when I upgraded that to a 1800 Zetec. However it was 10mm too long and fouled the steering rack so I ended up using the HOF264 as mentioned by Mat.  IIRC this a Focus 1.4 Zetec filter.

Risks with Mixed Threads

Some time ago I tested Halfords filters for suitability and bought a Renault one. I fitted it to the zetec engine in my car and also onto a spare oil pump assembly I had. On the one the filter would screw on and grip, apparently normally, and on the other it gave stripped thread symtoms when tightened. On closer investigation with a vernier caliper I found that the Renault thread was M20 and the Zetec one was 3/4 inch (19,05 mm)  on the pump. The threads must have a similar pitch and with the 1mm difference the thread grooves overlap, but with reduced engagement. Obviously some people have got away with it but there could be a failure under pressure.

Apparently Renault changed the thread on the filters from 3/4" to 20 mm in 1984. So it seems as though if you are looking for a R5 filter you should make sure it is for a Pre 1984 model, not later.

I bought a R5 Champion one from Halfords which was C108 - however bottled it and bought one from factory which was WIX WL7064 marked as 3x4 x 16 unf.
